Spanish for Students and Professionals in the Following Fields

Spanish for Students and Professionals in the Following Fields:
Medical, Social Work, and Law.

Today, there is a growing demand for medical workers, social workers and law professionals to speak Spanish, especially in the United States. At I.C.A., we have the experience to facilitate the learning of a second language.

Options include:
Studying Spanish in the afternoons while working mornings as a volunteer in the ICAmigos medical clinic, in a hospital (social work project working with TB and AIDS patients), or in the women’s prison. The second option is to study in the mornings for a few weeks first and then volunteer in the mornings after. Your schedule will depend on your level of Spanish.

Lawyers and/or law students can also take advantage of opportunities to visit law offices, work in the women’s prison and visit criminal courts or police stations.

Hours: Monday through Friday 8-10:30 a.m. and 11-1 p.m. or 2-4:30 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.

Medical clinic is open: Monday through Friday 9a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Prison hours: Three mornings a week- female volunteers only.

There is a minimum time commitment of four weeks to work in the clinic or hospital, unless you are a qualified doctor or medical team.
